eKartingNews has launched a new program for social media and the EKN Radio Network - Face2Face. The show is broadcasted live over Facebook and YouTube, with the audio version making its way to the only 24 hour / 7 days a week radio station.
Episode 46 of Face2Face welcomed a group of individuals responsible for the growth and stability of karting in the Lone Star State. The Texas Karting Roundtable included Brittany Lobaugh of the Texas Sprint Racing Series, Alan Rudolph from the Alan Rudolph Racing Academy at Speedsportz Racing Park in North Houston, Full Gas Motorsports owner Mark French and Heart of Texas Karting Club president Rod Clinard. They sat down with EKN’s Rob Howden to discuss the current state of the sport in Texas.

For a second straight year, EKN had the privilege to work with Mazda Motorsports in presenting nominees to the 2021 Spec MX-5 Shootout. Through those nominees, nine finalists were named to compete at the Sebring International Raceway. Two days of on-track and off-track evaluation led to the naming of two drivers earning $50,000 toward the 2022 season. The names of Nate Cicero and Westin Workman were called as the winners. The two joined EKN’s Rob Howden and David Cole to discuss the events leading up to and during the shootout for a new episode of Face2Face.

It was a great return of the International Kart Federation Sprint GrandNationals to the NorCal region. Grassroots drivers from all over the western half of the USA converged on the Prairie City Kart Track in Ranco Cordova, California on the October 15-17 weekend, with all nine categories competing for the prestigious Screaming Eagle for fast time in qualifying and the coveted Duffy trophy for the victory. EKN’s Rob Howden and David Cole welcomed Donald Durbin Jr. of Prairie City Kart Track and Greg Bell from Leading Edge Motorsports to discuss this year’s event, the growth of the PCKT club program and the future of the IKF Sprint GrandNationals in this new episode of Face2Face.

The 2021 United States Pro Kart Series closed out over the October 15-17 weekend with the Carolina Grand Prix at the GoPro Motorplex. A total of 267 entries in seven IAME categories contested Round Seven and Eight at the Mooresville, North Carolina facility. Championships were decided over the weekend, capping off the ninth season for the series. David Cole and Rob Howden provide a report from the event in this new episode of the EKN Debrief - thanks to Trinity Karting Group. The 2021 season for the United States Pro Kart Series is set to close out this weekend with the running of the Carolina Grand Prix at the GoPro Motorplex. For ninth time, the series will visit the Mooresville, North Carolina facility, deciding this year’s championship in the seven IAME categories with Round Seven and Eight to be contested. One of the largest karting events of the year took place at the New Castle Motorsports Park this past weekend, with the Cup Karts North America Grand Nationals 5 welcoming nearly 400 entries over the four-day event. The unofficial ‘Runoffs’ of the Briggs & Stratton 206 engine powerplant brought together racers from all over the USA to compete in eight classes, and leave as the Grand Nationals champion for the year.
