Face2Face: EP74 – 2023 Cup Karts North America Grand Nationals 7

The 74th episode of Face2Face takes us into Briggs 206 racing and the Cup Karts North America Grand Nationals 7. Rob Howden and David welcome Greg Jasperson of CKNA to discuss the upcoming September 28-October 1 event at the New Castle Motorsports Park. The 4-cycle only program is set to host nearly 500 entries in nine categories, a new event record by over 100 entries. Jasperson talks about the four-day event along with the four Divisional programs that have helped to build the momentum of the event entering its seventh year.

EKN Debrief: Episode 118 – 2023 Rotax Max Challenge US Trophy Final

The second edition of the Rotax Max Challenge US Trophy Final took place on September 15-17 at the New Castle Motorsports Park. Race Rotax / J3 Competition welcomed 110 drivers in five Rotax categories, competing for victories along with 12 tickets to the 2023 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, set for December in Bahrain. The second edition of the Rotax Max Challenge US Trophy Final will take place on September 15-17 at the New Castle Motorsports Park. Over 100 drivers will compete in five Rotax divisions at the New Castle, Indiana facility for a chance at 12 Rotax Grand Finals tickets up for grabs. The 28th running of the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix was held over the Labor Day weekend – September 2-3 – with the city streets of Rock Island, Illinois turned into a two-day karting festival. Reaching speeds of 80mph, karts battled around the 6/10-mile street course to decide this year’s winners of the coveted ROCK trophies – including the three King categories. Hot Seat: EP8 – Randy Kugler – 08.25.2023

The Hot Seat is back, after a busy summer season that kept us away from breaking out the mics trackside. Seeking some air conditioning during the United States Pro Kart Series Ohio Grand Prix at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati Kart Plex, EKN Managing Editor David Cole was able to grab series announcer and USA karting figurehead Randy Kugler. The Ohio native began as a karter himself before turning over the helmet to help guide the World Karting Association. The longtime President was around for some of the major karting events throughout the 1980s, 1990s and into the 2000s. He’s continued within the sport, providing play-by-play action for many karting events over the last decade. They discuss the past, present and future in Episode 8 of the Hot Seat.

The gathering of ‘Rotaxians’ from the USA, Canada, and around the world to Indiana will be one of the final events for competitors to earn a ticket to the 2023 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals – with a total of 12 up for grabs across the five categories.

The penultimate round of the 2023 United States Pro Kart Series is taking place this weekend at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati Kart Plex, hosting the Ohio Grand Prix which serves as the Round Four of the championship program. The August 25-27 weekend is the first visit to the Batavia, Ohio facility in the 11th year of the series. Over 200 entries will compete in the eight divisions around the 0.95-mile circuit. Rob Howden and David Cole preview the weekend ahead in this episode of the OutLap presented by Factory Karts.
