The calendar has turned over to 2020, and so begins a new decade. The first event on the calendar was the Superkarts! USA Winter Series, held at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. in southern Florida. Over 240 entries competed in the two rounds of racing around the 7/10-mile course, setting the stage for the upcoming season. Rob Howden and David Cole discuss the action in this new episode of the ‘EKN Debrief’ - thanks to Alan Rudolph Racing Academy. They cover the Briggs & Stratton Racing Paddock Pass, followed by the Race Report presented by Franklin Motorsports. The EKN Trackside Live program visits multiple events throughout the karting season. Leading up to major events on the calendar, EKN is happy to launch a new show as part of the EKN Radio Network. The EKN OutLap is a preview podcast show, geared at providing you the top stories, breaking news, and championship battles going into the weekend.
The fourth episode of the EKN OutLap - presented by Acceleration Kart Racing - is the first of 2020. Rob Howden and David Cole preview the Superkarts! USA Winter Series opener at the AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida. The two round weekend is the first event on the 2020 calendar year, as racers in IAME Swift, KA100, X30, SSE and Margay Ignite competition begin their season of racing. The two karting gurus discuss the event and look at the 13 categories set to battle in the southern tip of Florida.

The 45th anniversary of the World Karting Association Daytona KartWeek is upon us. In 1974, karts hit the World Center of Racing - the Daytona International Speedway - for the first edition of the annual event between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This year, three events - including the Manufacturers Cup Series, Road Racing and Dirt World Championships - will take place in Daytona Beach, Florida from December 27-30. Rob Howden and David Cole discuss the event in Episode 3 of the OutLap - presented by Briggs & Stratton. They talk about the history of KartWeek, all three events for 2019, look back at their personal memories of Daytona, and Howden interviews WKA President Kevin Williams and Rick Fulks.

It has been just over a year since the launch of the GFC chassis brand, led by American karting star Gary Carlton. The NorCal native has traveled all over the globe competing at the international level before hanging up the helmet at the end of 2017. Carlton wanted to continue to live his passion, and thus the GFC brand was born. It has blossomed into a full race team and driver development program, set for further expansion throughout the United States in 2020. EKN’s Rob Howden spoke with Carlton about the past, present and future of GFC.

The 2020 season is just around the corner, and thus the winter programs are less than a month away from hitting the track. Challenge of the Americas is set to enter its 13th season, the third under the ROK Cup USA banner. Series promoter Andy Seesemann is always a favorite to have on the EKN Radio Network, and Rob Howden was able to catch him for a great conversation. The two discussed the growth of the program and what’s in store for the 2020 Challenge!

The 2019 season has come to a close with the biggest event of the year, the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 23. Just over 500 entries converged on the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, competing with the Las Vegas Strip in the background. A total of 12 drivers etched their names in the record books as winners from SuperSunday, with many different stories unfolding throughout the week to remember. Rob Howden and David Cole discuss the action in this new episode of the ‘EKN Debrief’ - thanks to Alan Rudolph Racing Academy.
