The EKN Trackside Live program visits multiple events throughout the karting season. Leading up to major events on the calendar, EKN is happy to provide a show as part of the EKN Radio Network. The EKN OutLap is a preview podcast show, geared at providing you the top stories, breaking news, and championship battles going into the weekend.
After a four week hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EKN Trackside Live is ready to return back home, basically our second home at the New Castle Motorsports Park for what is now the 2020 opener of the United States Pro Kart Series. After a cancellation of the opener in March and postponement for their event in June, the series kicks off the season at what was originally schedule as the season finale. A record-breaking 223 entries will compete on July 17-19 at the New Castle, Indiana facility. This episode of the EKN OutLap - presented by MG Tires - has Rob Howden and David Cole preview the seven IAME categories competing on the weekend.

The 11th episode of the ‘Happy Hour with Howden’ dates back 14 years ago. The EKN Radio Network dives into the ARCHIVES from July 8, 2006 as EKN was trackside for the Stars of Karting event at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Saturday evening, the duo sat down in the hotel lobby following a busy day on track to welcome a number of guests and discuss the latest news in the sport. Six-time world karting champion Mike Wilson was among the guests, including Mike Giessen, Chris Lobaugh, Chris Wehrheim, and Matt Jaskol.

The EKN Radio Network continues to dive into the ARCHIVES for the ‘Happy Hour with Howden’ podcast. This episode takes us back to the start of the 2006 season, as the EKN crew attended the KMI Kart Show Expo in St. Charles, Illinois. A number of industry members and karters from all over North America and the world converged on the Pheasant Run Resort to introduce the new products for the season and network within the community. Super Kart Illustrated, the magazine for Howden Media Group at the time, held their annual SKI Awards for the 2005 season. Rob Howden and David Cole sit down to announce the winners for the following categories; Driver of the Year, Team of the Year, Rising Star, Young Driver of the Year, Road Racer of the Year, and Mechanic of the Year.

The ARCHIVES of the EKN Radio Network have been opened up to provide you the opportunity to hear stories and news of the past through the ‘Happy Hour with Howden’ show. The first ever taped episode took place on October 15, 2005 during the Stars of Karting event at the Iron Rock Raceway in Austin, Texas. Located on the airport grounds, the facility hosted the series finale, crowning the 2005 national champions. HMG owner Rob Howden Super Kart Illustrated editor Tim Blaney and EKN Managing Editor David Cole set up in the Champion Racing compound Saturday evening for the inaugural show. Champion Racing co-owner Rodney Berryhill was among the guests along with Stars owner Paul Zalud and ICC driver Ron White.
