The 27th edition of the Rock Island Grand Prix was contested over the annual Labor Day weekend in Rock Island, Illinois. The popular street race was held on September 3-4, welcoming nearly 200 entries competing for the coveted Rock trophy, and three crowns, including the historic King of the Streets honor. David Cole and Rob Howden recap the weekend in this new episode of the EKN Debrief – presented by Comet Kart Sales. The 27th edition of the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix is set to take place of the Labor Day weekend – September 3-4. The city of Rock Island, Illinois will welcome karters from all over North America to compete for two-days on the streets near the Mississippi River. The Superkarts! USA Pro Tour concluded the 2022 season with the 12th running of the SKUSA SummerNationals. The New Castle Motorsports Park was the site of the fifth and sixth rounds of the championship program with picture perfect weather at the New Castle, Indiana facility as eight categories completed their title chases on the July 29-31 weekend. Rob Howden and David Cole provide a full review of the event in this new episode of the EKN Debrief - thanks to Racelab. What better way for eKartingNews to introduce you to the industry and those competing in the sport then to go straight to them for a sit-down discussion. That is the goal of the 'EKN Tent Talk', the newest component of the EKN Trackside coverage program. EKN sets up shop with one of the teams in the paddock and welcomes guests under the tent.
The return of the EKN Tent Talk marks Episode Five as we were welcomed into the PSL Karting tent – the North American distributor for the Birel ART product line during the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals. The final two rounds of the 2022 championship program were held at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. EKN’s Rob Howden and David Cole sat down with drivers Jordon Musser and Jake French along with tuner/dealer Mark French.
