The EKN OutLap is a preview podcast show, geared at providing you the top stories, breaking news, and championship battles going into the weekend.
The second stop of the 2023 United States Pro Kart Series takes the program west of the Mississippi River for the first time, visiting the Speedsportz Racing Park for the first ever Texas Grand Prix. The New Caney, Texas facility will welcome close to 300 entries in the eight categories battling for three days to become the first ever winners for a USPKS event at Speedsportz. The first edition of the Hot Seat is here for 2023. After a busy first few events on the new year, EKN Managing Editor David Cole was able to schedule a sit down interview with the glue behind the growing GFC Karting race team and brand. Sonny Cervelli calls NorCal home, and what better person to grab after a busy day of practice at Sonoma Raceway for the Challenge of the Americas series finale than a guy who has a 30-minute drive to his own home. Cervelli has a long history in the sport as a driver, making his way up the ranks to the national level. Now, you can see him as the Director of Operations for GFC. They discuss his role, the growth of GFC, and other topics surrounding the sport in Episode 7 of the Hot Seat.

The 2023 Challenge of the Americas came to an end over the April 14-16 weekend at the Sonoma Raceway. The Sonoma, California facility hosted the fifth and sixth rounds of the premier west coast winter series to decide the champions in the 16th season of the program. Rob Howden and David Cole recap the action from ‘Wine Country’ in this episode of the EKN Debrief – presented by MEGA Power. The 67th episode of Face2Face focused around the Pacific Northwest and one of the only organizations in the USA that hosts events for both Sprint and Road Racing. The Northwest Karting Association is the promoter for the Padholder Super Cup Series programs, bringing together tracks and clubs to form a sprint championship along with a road racing championship. Rob Howden and David Cole welcome NWKA President Mike Schorn along with Puget Sound Road Race Association representative Aaron Stanford and Cole Hegar of the Hegar Manufacturing race team, to discuss both the sprint and road racing programs for 2023.
